At your first appointment we will ask you to fill out a medical questionnaire which we will keep in confidence. When you meet Dr Nicky she will want to hear what YOU think about your teeth, and what you think about braces. She will have a look at your teeth and take some close up photos - looking at the photos together on the flatscreen monitor makes it easier to explain your treatment options. Sometimes you will have X-rays taken to help with initial planning. Our photos and X-rays are digital and we like to print them out for you and your dentist to keep.
Dr Nicky will listen carefully to your concerns and will respect your input into planning decisions. She likes to work with patients and parents to decide on a plan tailored to suit individual cases. Dr Nicky will let you know if it is OK to do nothing. She writes all the choices down and gives you a copy to take home. It’s a good idea to bring a friend or relative along to help take in all the information. We will give you a quote based on the fees displayed here on the website.
If you would like to go ahead with the plan, the next step will be some measuring up - models and X-ray pictures if we have not already taken some. Soon after that the brace is fitted, often on the same day as the measuring up appointment!
