Taking care of you beyond treatment
We regularly speak to people whom are concerned that their teeth will become crooked after treatment. At your very first appointment we'll talk to you about how you can ensure that your teeth remain straight.
We always provide you with a fixed or removable retainer at the end of your treatment, to hold the teeth in position. They're easy and comfortable to wear too. It's very important that you fit and use the retainers correctly. It's actually quite straightforward!
Retainers are very important as teeth remember where they were before braces, and all teeth change naturally with age. It’s true that the longer patients wear their retainers the more stable their teeth become, but the only way Dr Nicky can guarantee that teeth will stay perfectly straight is to keep on wearing retainers long term. It’s important to think about this long term commitment before starting your brace treatment.
If you lose your retainer, it splits or feels like it doesn't fit and the teeth are moving, please call us immediately.
